the mom video

This video is extremely enlightening. First of all i like the fact that this guy understands what its like to have a mother that is basically crazy. I feel his pain on that one. The way he portrays that in this cartoon is extremely artistic. His first 6 lines in the story are exactly the same. I have a feeling this is an exageration, because even if his mom was partially retarted she would have gotten it after the fourth time. This means he did it on purpose he used the repeated phrase to bring that quality in his mom to the surface. This also connects him to his audience because anyone who has a mother knows this exact feeling, and probably has a very similar experience. I realized while watching this for the 9th or 10th time that the reason the pictures arent finished when the speaking starts is that he didnt know where the conversation would go. like he would hope that his mom had gotten the point but she would just keep pressing. So if it took me 9 or 10 times to get that from the video what else could i learn from observing more closely? i think this project was a very difficult thing to grasp but extremely enlightening.
